Jane's Addiction released "Stop!" from their 1990 Ritual de lo Habitual album. The song reached number 1 on the U.S. Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart for two non-consecutive weeks.
The song was written in 1986 at which time lead singer, Perry Ferrell, was foretelling the future though people thought he was being a bit dramatic. The song is about environmental destruction and climate change caused by humans resulting in floods and natural disasters. Seeing what we're experiencing now I don't think anyone would say he was being dramatic.
Guitarist, Dave Navarro, steps in and takes the lead in this song with a killer guitar solo, which took the #20 spot on Guitar World's 2015 list of the greatest wah solos of all time.
