ROME, WI (WSAU-WAOW) - Police are searching for a person who led officers on a chase reaching more than 100 miles per hour. on Friday night.

They’re searching for 27-year-old Yukon Tomczak.

Police say around 8:40pm Friday, the Rome Police Department responded to reports of an erratic driver on Highway 13. They say the person was going 83 mph in a 45 mph zone.

According to police, the suspect failed to stop for the officer and a chase ensued, reaching upwards of 100 mph.

Police used a tire deflation device to stop the car. They say the driver lost control and went into a ditch but fled the scene. He escaped in a stolen black 2010 Cherolet Suburban with Wisconsin license plate AAX-3044.

Police are looking for that car along with Tomczak, who they say was staying in the Wisconsin Rapids area.
