MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU) -- It's the 'Central Wisconsin Hemp Expo' coming to the Marshfield Mall this Saturday, and co-organizer Lyssa Blakeslee says its main goal is to inform the public about the health and wellness benefits of hemp-based products like CBD oil.
"The expo is an educational event," Blakeslee explained. "There'll be everything from growers, to finished product there, and everything in-between."
There'll be exhibits, and presentations on all aspects of the hemp industry according to Blakeslee. "We have 40 exhibitors, and then there will be speakers throughout the day. The U.S. Department of Agriculture will also be there to answer questions about growing and licensing."
The hemp industry's future economic impact on the state's economy will also be highlighted, and Blakeslee says the state's already benefiting. "Between 300 and 500 jobs have already been created just in this last year, so yeah, it's going to be huge."
That expo is open to the public and being held at the former JC Penney location in the Marshfield Mall this Saturday from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.
