MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU) -- In Marshfield, City Clerk Deb Hall says the filing deadline for the spring elections has passed, and no one has come forward to challenge any of the council members on the ballot this time around.

"It's a pretty quiet front here," she explained.  "All we have for city offices would be the 'even' district alder-persons, and that would be districts two, four, six, eight, and ten.  And all the incumbents are running unopposed."

Longtime city leader Gordie Earll, who's been a fixture on the council for more than a decade is not running again for the 4th District council seat, but  Hall says newcomer Ken Bargander won't have any challengers for that seat either.  "Gordie Earll filed non-candidacy papers, and we have one candidate running in that position."

And Marshfield voters won't need to go to the polls for a primary.  According to Hall, "There's nothing state-wide, county-wide, or anything that we need a primary for in February.  So there'll be no primary in February."

The upcoming spring general election is scheduled for April 9th.
